Knit Along: Plymouth Yarn Market Bag from Knitorious - Day 4

Almost got a handle on it...

I finished the webbing part last night. I have to say, I ended up fudging the ends of several rounds when I failed to end up with the number of stitches I ought to have. No biggie. This project handles a little improvisation with ease. I think the multi-color yarn may have been my friend in that aspect; I suspect a solid yarn might show off the stitches too clearly to hide my “alterations.” What is it EZ says? “If a man running for his life wouldn’t see it, it’s not a mistake?”

So now I’ve started on the handles. I want these to live up to my expectations; not to springy, not to tight. Handles make the bag; they’re where the pattern shows its muscle. I’ve been impressed with the body of the bag, so I’m optimistic. Still, you know I’ll keep you posted.

Ah, but now that we’re finishing up on this project, the question arrises: what to tote for the maiden voyage? Our local farmers market is on Wednesdays, so I can’t go with the obvious. And this needs some sort of special first errand to run. Baked goods? Yarn? Books? That new iPad I’ve been yearning for? The choices swim in my head. No need to worry. I’ll just keep stitching, sure that the perfect task will appear before the weekend.
